CONCEPT STATEMENT 

University life can be extremely stressful, with accelerated courses and navigating their new adult lives, students long for catching their breath for just a moment of calm within the storm. One of the most soothing noises is the pitter patter of raindrops on a window pane. Watching each drop be released from the sky as the water washes away every worry and doubt that the world could endure. Modular units of “raindrops” luminaires provide this soothing sensation with each bulb representing the soothing release of a water droplet from the sky. With the soft warm glow radiating from each bulb that is specifically set at different heights to replicate the movement of these droplets free falling from the sky, students will feel a sense of calmness and peace when they are in their own campus bookstore, an unlikely pairing.
